I visited Celle last Wednesday, with a good friend who shares my interest in visiting the towns and cities with a J S Bach connection. There is no proof that Bach ever visited Celle, although it is assumed, that as he worked in nearby Hamburg and Lüneburg, he probably visited the Marienkirche in Celle to play and check the organ to make sure every last detail was sound and correct.
