English and German Choirs Sing together in the Cathedral.

The children from Bath dressed in blue and the Cathedral choir in red.

It was such a wonderful occasion, two children´s choirs, one from England and the other German, met together and sang songs in English and German in Braunschweig Cathedral.

The exchange visit was organised by the Cathedral and Bath Abbey, and it is hoped that an exchange can be arranged for the Braunschweig choir to visit and sing in Bath.  The two cities have been twinned since the early 1950´s, as a way of fostering friendship between the young people of both countries.

Words fail me really, as it was such a wonderful occasion, and several of us shed a tear when a tiny little 8 year old girl from Bath, stood up and sang the solo part in a song called, "Last Kiss Goodbye."   The audience could not applaud enough, as she´d sang with a bell like voice, and with such confidence for someone so young.
