Sunshine at Long Last!

Gliesmarode community centre.

These two pictures show today´s sunshine, and just like the old days in Braunschweig.   The above photo shows the community centre, where I go on Mondays to meet the English groups.  It was much warmer than of late, and we were able to open the windows and look out at the cloudless blue sky,  with no raindrops in sight!   It is a nice building, and although it appears a little austere from the outside, the inner rooms are light and airy, with colourful paintings on the walls.

The groups finished at 1.10pm, and then I headed off on the bus  to J and G´s house in Querum a few miles up the road,  for a nice cuppa and a piece of home made cake, out on their patio with a nice view of their verdant garden.

Suzanne, Brian and Norbert sunbathing on the patio.

I´d left some clothes and shoes at J´s over the winter months, and also Norbert the blue rabbit, and his friend "Brian the Ted."   Over the winter Norbert has gained a lady friend called Suzanne, and all three can be seen sitting in a little basket on J´s patio table.  How lovely it all looks in the sunshine.

Parts of Querum village were under water last week, when the River Schunter overflowed it´s banks.   Fortunately the flood water missed  J´s house by a few metres, so she was very lucky.  Many cellars were flooded, and the fire brigade were kept busy pumping out the water.
